Defining Security “Dos and Don’ts” the Fun Way
As the crucial IT arm of Charter Communications, Charter IT is in charge of keeping all systems relating to security, network performance and operation, data management, technology and so much more running smoothly—day in and day out.
What Problem Were We Trying to Solve?
Our objective was to help Charter IT educate their employees about corporate policies regarding proper treatment and transmission of sensitive company information. As you can imagine, it’s a dry subject, albeit a critical one.
What Was Our Approach?
Given the sensitivity and gravity of subjects related to internal and external security, we wanted to make sure the messaging going out to employees would really cut through. So, we took inspiration from Charter’s national, consumer-facing “Monster” campaign, and developed educational videos using animated monsters as caricatures of the potentially catastrophic consequences of disregarding company protocol.
(You may not be smitten by the Grim Reaper in real life for sending company information on a non-secure network—but you just might lose your job!)
We know from experience that animated videos can turn even the driest of subjects into fun, digestible training pieces and improve information retention. Not only will employees talk about the new training videos at the water cooler—they’ll eagerly anticipate the next one!
Looking for a memorable, engaging tactic for employee training or delivering important company information? Video is the answer. Let’s start brainstorming today!
